iPad Repair
Screen ReplacementsiPad screens consist of two important layers - touch sensitive glass called the digitizer, and the LCD display which produces an image.
If you have a standard edition or older iPad, and your screen is cracked but the image behind the glass still shows up normally, your device will be eligible for digitizer only pricing. However, if there are lines, black spots, or other visual artifacts present, you'll also need to have the LCD layer replaced at an additional cost, as outlined below. Most other iPad models, including the iPad Air 2 and newer, and the entire iPad Pro series, fuse these two layers of the display together so they must be replaced as one unit. A price list isn't maintained for these models, but most quotes fall in the $150 to $350 range, although some models with exceptionally high parts' cost are more.

Touch screens (digitizers) for the iPad 5 through 10, and iPad Air 1 are kept in stock and available immediately, while LCDs for these models, and laminated displays for other models, are typically available in 2-3 business days or faster for an additional fee. You can expect a quick turn around time of just 2-3 hours to minimize your downtime.

Replacing your battery at the same time as a screen repair is highly recommended, as it eliminates the risk of removing a working screen to replace the battery at a later date. Significant discounts are also available when completing a screen and battery repair together!

Battery ReplacementiPad battery replacements are complicated by the need to remove the glued down screen to access the battery, which isn't exactly designed to be removed and reinstalled. This is less of a concern for standard iPad models with a split digitizer and LCD design, as the cost of parts in the event of accidental damage to the display is relatively insignificant. Quotes are typically around $100-175 for these models.
For iPad models with fused display designs, including the iPad Air 2 and newer, and the entire iPad Pro series, there is a very small but notable chance of the display breaking or malfunctioning during removal. Some of these screens cost a few hundred dollars, so building this possibility into your battery replacement quote would make the repair cost prohibitive for everyone. Battery replacements are typically quoted at $100-250 for these models, but in the unlikely event that an unplanned replacement screen is needed, you'll need to either cover the additional cost or abandon the project for no fee. |
Liquid Damage - Help Us Help You!
In the event that your iPad is experiencing any issues after liquid exposure, turn it off immediately, and do not attempt to charge it or power it on until a repair professional has serviced it.
Liquid damage is time sensitive, the sooner you get your device in for service, the better your chances are of an affordable recovery. Powering on or charging a liquid damaged device is the number one cause of severe damage. Even after several days or weeks, standing liquid can remain in your device if it is not properly opened and cleaned, and wreak havoc when it's powered on. Please do not place your device in rice. This is a meritless internet myth that has absolutely no chance of helping your liquid damaged device, instead it frequently damages charge ports and delays getting proper help. Your best chance for recovery is to bring your device in while it's still wet. Attempting to dry it out with a fan or heater while the battery is still installed only has the potential to concentrate conductive ions in the liquid, worsening damage. Just because your device appears to continue to work after liquid damage, does not mean you should continue using it. This can and will make an easily addressable situation much much worse, and much more expensive to repair. |
Proper liquid damage recovery involves fully disassembling the device and placing components into a pure alcohol bath that displaces other foreign liquids, after which the device can be dried out without depositing contaminates onto the sensitive internal components. Damaged parts are then replaced, and liquid damage to the logic board treated with in-house microsoldering services, which you can learn more about here. Liquid damage repairs are offered on a no fix/data no fee basis with free no obligation quotes. Some devices with extensive damage are not practical to repair for daily use again, but may still be eligible for data recovery services. Most liquid damaged iPads receive quotes in the $100-350 range, but some quotes may come in above or below this range depending on the extent of damage and cost of replacement parts.
