We Seek to Raise the Bar & Lead by Example
It's no secret that the electronics and mobile device repair industry doesn't have the best reputation, and unfortunately many consumers who have a bad experience with an unethical repair provider who misstated part quality, didn't honor their warranty, or took advantage of the less technically adept will understandably choose to replace, rather than repair, the next time their device breaks, after just one bad experience.
We seek to change this narrative, set the bar higher for Michigan's electronics and mobile device repair industries, and to lead by example with our policies, in hopes that we can improve the industry's image and reputation, making an impactful difference in the number of devices sustainably and affordably repaired, so less unnecessary waste ends up in the landfill, and more money stays in your pocket.
Regardless of if you're seeking out our simplest services such as iPhone screen repair in Ann Arbor, MI, or most advanced data recovery capabilities, our mission statement and robust consumer friendly policies have your back.

Transparent Policies You Can Count On
We offer truly free no obligation quotes! This means that even if we spend hours diagnosing your device, and successfully find the issue, but you're not happy with the quote provided, you pay nothing. Yes, really! Why? This policy is based on years of feedback from our Ann Arbor phone repair customers who hate paying diagnostic fees, but we're also transparent in that our logic here isn't just charitable. We believe that removing barriers to repair, such as diagnostic fees, is a win for both consumers and repair business alike, because it encourages more consumers to bring their device in for a second opinion after Apple or other repair providers all too frequently incorrectly state that repair or data recovery isn't possible. With this policy, you'll never have to pay for another iPhone glass repair in Ann Arbor that doesn't actually solve your stated problem.

We provide a lifetime warranty on 99%+ of repairs performed for functionality, and tell you up front if your case is one of the very few special situations in which we can't offer our standard warranty policy. Why provide a lifetime warranty when the industry standard is often just 30-90 days, perhaps 6-18 months at best? It's quite simple! Our work is of a high quality standard such that we have an incredibly low rate of warranty claims, thus we see no reason to put a duration limit on our standard warranty when it's not negatively impacting our business, and our customers love the policy in the rare event that they need to take advantage of it! We're confident that this is the most robust warranty policy for iPhone screen repair in Ann Arbor. Please see our FAQ section below for the specific coverage details and exclusions of our standard lifetime warranty.

We offer a no fix/data no fee policy on 95%+ of repairs and services performed, because it's actually a win-win for everyone involved! Our customers are often perplexed when we tell them we're not billing for the significant amount of time we've invested into their project that turned out to be technically impossible to repair, but here's the thing - We've done the math, and we believe that this policy decreases the barrier to repair such that more of our customers will choose to move forward with their repair quote, and on average, this policy actually increases our revenue while providing an invaluable improvement to the customer experience of cell phone repair in Ann Arbor. In some cases, expensive non-returnable or consumable parts or materials are necessary for a repair attempt, making providing this policy in every case unviable, however we communicate this upfront and always seek to provide as low of a no fix/data cost as possible in these rare situations.
These policies are provided in good faith, but are not legally binding as written, and exceptions may be made to any stated policy on a case-by-case basis. All terms or policies communicated directly to you, or included in your quote, preempt any clause found on this or any other page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located?
I work out of my private residence in downtown Ann Arbor, near Nickels Arcade, and just one block away from the University of Michigan’s Central Campus Diag. You’ll receive my exact address when scheduling an appointment; it’s not publicly available for privacy reasons.
Why don’t you have a storefront?
Simply put, storefront locations cost businesses a lot of money, which is inevitably passed onto the consumer. By avoiding large overhead costs such as rent, I’m able to offer quality services for less.
Is an appointment required to stop by?
Yes. All of my work is offered by appointment only, however I’m quite flexible and often available immediately or within a matter of hours, so please reach out for my current availability. Customers who obtain my address outside of official channels and arrive without an appointment will not be assisted.
What are your business hours?
I work by appointment and don’t maintain typical business hours, which means I’m highly flexible and happy to help out with a late night or weekend project, if I don’t have other obligations.
Do you charge diagnostic fees?
No. I fundamentally believe that diagnostic fees are a bad practice that discourages consumers from considering their options for repair. I offer free no obligation quotes, and unless otherwise stated in your quote, all of my work is offered on a no fix/data no fee basis. That means that if I can’t repair your device or recover your data as quoted, even after investing several hours, you’ll pay nothing.
What payment methods do you accept?
I accept cash, local checks, or most mobile payment apps including Zelle, Venmo, Apple Pay (with a debit card via iMessage), PayPal, and Cash App. I do not currently accept direct credit cards or out of town personal checks.
How do I schedule an appointment?
For the best service experience, please contact me via the quote request form found on my contact page here. You can also call/text my cell at 231-930-7544. Please leave a voicemail if I’m unable to pick up the phone, I return all messages and appreciate your patience.
Do you use original parts from the MANUFACTURER?
Original/OEM vs. aftermarket parts is an age-old question with no single right answer. By default, I offer whichever I believe will provide you with the most affordable repair without compromising my quality standards. For many services, I offer both OEM and aftermarket options and may provide you with multiple quotes automatically, otherwise please feel free to inquire. On request, I may also be able to provide more expensive original or more affordable aftermarket parts than my standard option.
Will an important display, battery, or camera message show after my iPhone repair?
On the Apple iPhone XR and newer, you may receive a misleading message after a camera, battery, or screen replacement stating that the repair wasn’t completed correctly, or the part isn’t functioning properly. In reality, all this message indicates is that Apple didn’t authorize the repair, and would’ve preferred you give them your money instead of independent repair providers like myself. These messages show regardless of if OEM or aftermarket parts are utilized, in fact taking two brand new iPhones and swapping the screens between them will present a message claiming that the screens are not genuine, which shows just how absurd this feature is. Depending on your device model and iOS version at the time of repair, this message will vary in content or may not even appear, as Apple has repeatedly been sued over this practice and continues to remove and reintroduce this feature.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes! By default, all hardware repairs for functionality are backed by a lifetime warranty against defects in parts provided and services rendered, which does not cover liquid or physical damage occurring after the time of repair, issues with other parts of the device not serviced, or lingering issues from liquid damage not present at the time of repair. Batteries are consumable parts which last about two to three years on average, dependent on use. Normal wear and tear on batteries, or other consumable parts, is not covered under warranty. For a small number of services and special cases, your quote may include additional warranty terms or exclusions.
What is your turnaround time?
Most simple parts replacement projects such as iPhone screen or battery repairs are completed in 30 minutes or less, more advanced projects such as iPhone charge ports, iPad screens, or MacBook screens in just a few hours, and even highly technical microsoldering projects including liquid damage recovery are often available same or next day. If parts need to be ordered for your project, this typically takes 2-3 business days with free shipping, or as soon as overnight for an additional fee.
What services do you offer?
I offer everything from basic parts repairs such as screen, battery, or camera replacements to advanced microsoldering and data recovery services targeting severely damaged devices that have been extensively liquid damaged or even run over by vehicles. I also offer in-house display refurbishing for select MacBook and Apple Watch models, and a suite of business-to-business services.
What services don’t you offer?
I unfortunately don’t offer any on-site services, training, IT support, website development or hosting, technical support for devices not being repaired, accessory sales, or software support. As a general rule of thumb, my services are limited to the physical or software repair of electronics and data recovery.
What devices do you service?
In short, almost everything. I specialize in Apple products including iPhones, MacBooks, iPads, and Apple Watches, with a large inventory of parts kept in stock for these devices. I also service all other mobile devices including Android phones or tablets, PC laptops, etc. but am unlikely to have parts in stock. Please reach out to inquire about any specialty projects, these are accepted on a case-by-case basis, but in the past I’ve helped out with everything from an electric fence charger to professional grade camera equipment, and enjoy a good challenge.
What devices don’t you service?
I unfortunately don’t service (2D) printers, appliances too large to transport, automobile components still installed in the vehicle, or audio receivers/amplifiers. This is not an exhaustive list, and I do make exceptions on a case-by-case basis.
Can I buy parts from you to complete a repair myself?
No, I unfortunately do not sell any parts or accessories, and am not authorized to disclose my wholesale pricing for parts I provide to you.
Can I provide you with my own parts for my repair?
Yes, but this is strongly discouraged. When using customer provided parts, I offer zero warranty, and the quoted full price is still due even if the parts you provide are defective, do not solve the issue as desired, or damage other parts of your device. Further, I will not swap out a defective part you provide with another replacement you provide at no cost. When you provide parts for installation, you are paying only for my labor to install the part, not a comprehensive repair service with warranty or support.
