We'll be closed for the holidays from Saturday, December 14th through the end of the year, and currently have limited capacity remaining prior for select projects. Once confirmed, a return to work date in early January of 2025 will be posted here. Once we reach capacity for services occurring in 2024, or if your project is ineligible for last minute scheduling, our contact form available here will serve as a priority scheduling queue for services occurring in 2025. We will be unable to respond to new inquiries received on/after Thursday, December 12th until January of 2025, and will otherwise be generally unreachable from December 14th. Happy holidays!
Meet the OwnerI'm Alex Thayer, a recent graduate from the University of Michigan's highly ranked Computer Engineering and Entrepreneurship programs, and a Northern Michigan native hailing from the small town of Frankfort. I've been fascinated by computers and electrical technology throughout my entire life, disassembling old computers bound for the recycling bin from the age of just six, and providing electronics repair services in my local community since 2012.
Over the past decade, I've found myself increasingly frustrated with electronics manufactures refusal to fix perfectly good devices, and their baseless war on ethical independent repair providers who only strive to provide consumers with affordable choices that keep usable devices out of the landfill. In response, I've operated a series of electronics repair entities ranging in scope from simple screen repair in Northern MI, to nuanced iPhone repair in Ann Arbor, or business-to-business data recovery work across Southern MI. I have tens of thousands of hours of experience repairing or extracting data from iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, Androids, PCs, and even specialized professional equipment at both the part and component level. My ongoing mission is to improve the availability of affordable and sustainable electronics repair and data recovery services throughout the entire Midwest region for business and consumers alike. We offer a highly technical suite of services not found anywhere else in Ann Arbor, or even the entire Midwest region, allowing us to repair or recover data from hundreds of devices every year when Apple or other mobile device repair shops have previously said the task is impossible. These services including in-house microsoldering, data recovery, and display refurbishing for select devices, all of which we seek to make available affordably, despite the engineering skillset required to provide them. We also bring these high quality standards to simple parts replacement repairs, allowing us to provide the best value iPhone screen repair Ann Arbor has available.
Our customers frequently share that they had previously abandoned hope of recovering priceless wedding, travel, or baby photos that they'd been told were either impossible to recover or would cost thousands of dollars with no guarantee of success. We strive to change this narrative by providing free no obligation quotes that are based on the actual issue present and not a multi-thousand dollar flat fee, along with a no fix/data no fee policy, and robust lifetime warranty on hardware repairs. This is primarily made possible by our in-house microsoldering services, which are akin to performing brain surgery under a microscope for electronics, resulting in the most advanced services for electronics and phone repair in Ann Arbor. |
Liquid Damaged MacBook, Tablet, and Phone Repair in Ann Arbor - Help Us Help You!
Liquid damage recovery is a highly technical service not offered by all of the outlets for phone repair Ann Arbor, but we make it our specialty! In the event that liquid spills on or into your device, turn it off immediately, remove the battery if possible, and do not attempt to charge it or power it on until a repair professional has serviced it.
Liquid damage is time sensitive, the sooner you get your device in for service, the better your chances are of an affordable recovery. Powering on or charging a liquid damaged device is the number one cause of severe damage. Even after several days or weeks, standing liquid can remain in your device if it is not properly opened and cleaned, and wreak havoc when it's powered on. Please do not place your device in rice. This is a meritless internet myth that has absolutely no chance of helping your liquid damaged device, instead it frequently damages charge ports and delays getting proper help. Your best chance for recovery is to bring your device in while it's still wet. Attempting to dry it out with a fan or heater while the battery is still installed only has the potential to concentrate conductive ions in the liquid, worsening damage. Just because your device appears to continue to work after liquid damage, does not mean you should continue using it. This can and will make an easily addressable situation much much worse, and much more expensive to repair. |
Proper liquid damage recovery involves fully disassembling the device and placing components into a pure alcohol bath that displaces other foreign liquids, after which the device can be dried out without depositing contaminates onto the sensitive internal components. Damaged parts are then replaced, and liquid damage to the logic board treated with in-house microsoldering services, which you can learn more about here. Liquid damage repairs are offered on a no fix/data no fee basis with free no obligation quotes. Some devices with extensive damage are not practical to repair for daily use again, but may still be eligible for data recovery services. Most liquid damaged devices receive quotes in the $100-400 range, but some quotes may come in above or below this range depending on the extent of damage and cost of replacement parts.

Display RefurbishingWe're also proud to be one of the only repair shops in the entire Midwest region to offer in-house display refurbishing services for select Apple Watch and MacBook models. These are a game changer for screen repair Ann Arbor services on devices that are otherwise notoriously difficult to repair affordably.
With the image quality of an original display, and a total cost that's often less than just the cost of parts, we recommend display refurbishing over display replacement for almost all eligible devices. Display refurbishing techniques vary by device make and model, but the core principle remains the same; we utilize specialized equipment to separate the damaged portion of your display from the other undamaged components that can be reused, allowing for a significant savings in materials' costs that we're able to pass onto you. For eligibility criteria, pricing, turnaround time, and additional information on how these services are performed, please see our dedicated MacBook and Apple Watch pages. |
What Our Customers Are Saying
Alex did an amazing job replacing the battery in my MacBook Pro. He was able to diagnose the problem quickly, order parts quicker, and had the whole thing back together in under an hour. Very professional and easy to work with I highly recommend coming here before seeking assistance at an Apple store. |
I got a MacBook screen repair which was completely broken, apple people said they won’t recommend repairing so just buy a new one! Luckily found Alex, he did the repair for half the price in just 1 hour with a lifetime warranty. I’ll absolutely recommend him to all my friends and family! |
Alex is a pro! My iPhone X seemed worse than it was. A new screen protector and cleaning the charging port was all it took. He also cleaned all the other ports as well. 15 minutes later and a nominal service charge and I was good to go. I highly recommend. Very professional and obviously only does the work needed. |
